Rick Smith's Fishing in the Park is an opportunity for children
to participate in a fishing contest and learn fishing skills
at the pond located at Easy Walker Park. Donations made in
memory of Rick Smith have been earmarked to help perpetuate
this program. Wal-Mart also makes a large contribution to
this event. Officers from the Kentucky Division of Fish and
Wildlife, members of Rick Smith's family, employees of Wal-Mart
and many others volunteer their time to make this event memorable
for the 250+ youth of Montgomery County who participate each
year.
